ARCHITECTURE:

This single-storey, shallow hip-roofed Minimal Traditional-style house has a large, hip-roofed bay on the left rear and a hip-roofed porch on the right rear. A gabled extension on the left front is behind an extended, centrally-located, gable-roofed front porch. Both gable ends are finished with rolled shingles, in imitation of an English Cottage thatched roof. There are two panels of three casement windows either side of the porch. The partially enclosed porch has a round-topped entry surrounded by brick quoins, and round-topped openings in its side walls. A small ornate metal gate can close off the porch, which is entered by two half-round concrete steps faced with upright bricks. The house, which was built for $6,000, is stuccoed. The rectangular brick chimney is of the same dark red and charcoal coloured bricks as the porch and steps. It was originally built with a basement garage.
